On behalf of the Office of Student Standards, we would like to wish all students the best during this academic year. Often I am asked what actually is Student Standards and my role pertaining to it..Well, student standards are the rules and/or polices that the University has established to govern student behavior and conduct for both on and off campus. Currently, there are 23 of these standards of behavior which are located in our Student Handbook, the Pilot, and can be found on this site. When a student has violated one of these polices or it is alleged that they may have, they are required to meet with one of our judicial staff members in order to resolve the matter. This could result in a student being placed on one of our disciplinary sanctions. Through our sanctions, we attempt to educate and help students make better decisions and choices in the future. However, there are times when we must take a punitive approach, which could result in a student's separation from the University.
My role as director is to oversee the process, deal with the more severe incidents and update and /or change procedures as needed. I'm also the person who can answer any questions or concerns that you may have regarding any aspect of our Student Code of Conduct or any of our policies and/or procedures. So if you have any questions after visiting our site, please feel free to contact me.
Take care and good luck...
